Growing your own vegetable garden is an incredibly rewarding experience but it's not always easy, especially if you feel like you have a brown thumb.

You know that you want to give your family the best possible produce that you can. That might mean that you're spending a small fortune on organic produce at the grocery store or carving out time on Saturday mornings to head to the local farmer's market. Maybe you want to...

  • have fresh, home-grown vegetables to put on your dinner table each night instead of bland, flavorless produce from the grocery store
  • grow vegetables at home so you can stop stressing over the ever-increasing price of simple ingredients like tomatoes, peppers, and lettuce
  • feel confident growing your own food instead of spending hours and tons of money on produce at the local farmer's market
  • explore new types of plants to grow that will add more flavor and nutrients to your meals
  • understand how to plan your garden to get the most out of the growing space and time that you have so you don't feel overwhelmed by your garden (I've been there)

You can have all of these things.

The best part: Growing your own vegetables doesn't have to be complicated.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

"I wish I had discovered Shelby DeVore when I started gardening last year. The Backyard Vegetable Gardener's Summit that she hosted was both informative and inspiring! In her classes, she does a great job of giving you the nuts and bolts for the basics and explains complex topics simply and clearly. I was armed with much better information to get started this year and I can finally stop Googling the things that are not going quite right in the garden."

-Danette Cathcart

The Backyard Vegetable Gardener's Summit will teach you how to successfully grow your own fresh vegetables and herbs without making avoidable mistakes or spending a ton of money on produce at the farmer's market.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

"I’m a seasoned homesteader with 40+ years of experience. I was interested in the summit to find ideas for choosing better what I really need to be doing for my husband and I on the farm. I was able to get some good information from the summit and enjoyed all of the little extras (info sheets, etc.) that were given. At my age, I tend to print out everything so that when I can’t remember, I have good resources to go to. Purchasing the All Access Pass is great because I like the idea of always having the information easy to find. Thank you for offering this summit. It was very enjoyable and informative. I will be looking back on the All Access Pass often I believe."

20+ experts over 4 days will teach you proven strategies that will help you to grow more of your own fresh vegetables in your backyard without spending a ton of time or money on plants that haven't produced for you in the past.

Maybe you're...

  • Tired of the added hormones, chemicals, and preservatives that are added to your food and you want to take control of your food supply
  • Worried about how expensive your grocery bills have gotten lately for your family and you want to cut costs
  • Interested in gardening, but you don't know how or where to even start
  • Tired of the eye-rolling your spouse gives you when you bring up gardening because every time you've tried in the past, you've failed
  • Wondering how to actually harvest and use the fresh ingredients that you're producing and you want to make the most out of it

Whatever it is for you, it’s time to start successfully growing your own food to put real, home-grown food on your table.

Hi, I'm Shelby DeVore!

I’m a multi-generational homesteader with over 20 years of experience growing my own food. Not only have I grown a large percentage of my family's food for years, but I’ve got a unique perspective when it comes to backyard vegetable gardening.

I’ve got both a Bachelor’s degree in Animal and Dairy Science and a Master’s degree in Agriculture. I spent several years teaching high school and college agriculture. I was an FFA advisor for several years also and taught numerous students and community members how to grow more of their own food.

Most gardening educators are either ‘experts’ because they’ve grown their own vegetables successfully with no prior experience or they spent thousands getting an education about crops with little real-world experience. I have the unique perspective of doing both. I want to teach you the best methods to garden successfully that will put real food on your table, whether you’re looking for fresh vegetables, fruit, or herbs.

I created the Backyard Vegetable Gardener's Summit to help you to learn how to confidently grow more fresh vegetables in your backyard. Join me and 20+ other experts to learn how to grow more healthy, nutritious food, right in your backyard.

Learn how to grow your own vegetables right from your backyard.

There are tons of online events, workshops, and summits out there about gardening and growing your own food. So, what makes the Backyard Vegetable Gardener's Summit different?

  • First, this summit was created specifically for vegetable gardeners who want to feed their families with food grown in their own backyard. This isn’t general advice for any gardener or homesteader out there. Every single presentation is specialized for growing food at home, making it a whole lot more impactful.
  • More importantly, we’re not here to add to your plate. Our goal isn’t to throw a pile of strategies at you, leaving you feeling overwhelmed and like you were born with a brown thumb (spoiler alert: you DO have a green thumb, and at the summit, you'll learn how to uncover it).
  • We’re here to help improve what you’re already doing, or get started on the right track by creating healthier soil, getting rid of gross pests, and growing massive amounts of food, even if you’re gardening in sand that seems to magically sprout squash bugs and little green worms.

Food systems today are broken.

Covid, lockdowns, and the economy have revealed what many seasoned homesteaders were starting to realize... the food systems today are broken.

You've likely noticed a sharp increase in the price of everything, but food is non-negotiable. You're forced to buy what's there to feed your family in order to survive. What if I told you that you could produce higher-quality food, at home, for less than you could buy it at the grocery store?

There's a reason that homesteading is the go-to for people when times are tough. It's a proven, reliable way to work around broken food systems. Start growing fresher, better-tasting vegetables and herbs at home.

The Backyard Vegetable Gardener's Summit is the perfect place to start. Grab your ticket below and join me and 20+ other experts to learn how to get started.

It's time to...

  • stop worrying about the constant lettuce recalls, ever-increasing prices at the grocery store, and the frequently empty shelves where the fresh produce should be
  • sleep soundly at night knowing that your family is eating clean, fresh produce that you grew in your backyard using safe, more natural methods
  • start putting real, home-grown food on your dinner table, and stop buying expensive vegetables and herbs that are flavorless and coated with all sorts of pesticides and harsh chemicals
  • feel more in control of and connected with your food supply instead of constantly wondering what you're eating or where it came from

Here's what past attendees have to say:

"I attended last year's summit you hosted and it was so good. I LOVED it so I had to attend this one!" -Carole Lynette

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

IS THIS ONLY FOR GARDENERS?

It sure is! There are a lot of offerings out there for farmers and homesteaders, but this one has been created specifically for people who are growing or want to grow more vegetables and herbs for food and want to learn how they can put even more fresh produce on the dinner table.

The presentations will begin on March 27th. There will be three days of presentations and a bonus day of live trainings and workshops to help you start growing more of your own food this year!

WILL ALL THE SPEAKERS GET MY EMAIL ADDRESS?

No! I know how annoying it can be to have your inbox flooded with useless information and emails from people that don’t have anything useful for you. The only people that will get your email address are the people that you choose to give it to. For example, all of the speakers will have places where you can sign up for their emails. The only speakers that will get your email address are the ones that you give it to specifically.

Learn more in our Privacy Policy.

ARE THE PRESENTATIONS LIVE?

To prevent technical issues, most of the sessions are prerecorded with the exception of a few hand-picked keynote speaker sessions and the bonus sessions on March 30th.
